LV= are looking for a Level 3 Project Manager to join their team in Bournemouth. Joining this small team you will plan and manage a variety of IT software projects to achieve a set of business objectives within agreed constraints of cost, time and quality.
You’ll be working within the Information Security area of the business. You’ll be integral to the success of a number of workstreams, so once you’re assigned to a project, you’ll manage it through the full project cycle; co-ordinating, supporting and monitoring all work undertaken on the project ensuring adherence to agreed standards, policies and procedures. You’ll be working on projects related to LV=’s IT Security and Risk, relating to GDPR and keeping our customers data safe and secure.
When it comes to having an understanding of project management principles, practices and methodologies you’ll be a real expert and have experience in adopting a variety of different approaches.
You will be very comfortable with Information Security and Risk relating to IT, Agile development, Data Management, Management Information, Migration and have a real drive and enthusiasm to deliver and make a difference.
Being a Senior role within the IT space, driving change at pace and agility are all key leadership attributes we are looking for, coupled with ability to build strong credible relationships, so it’s no surprise that stakeholder management and 3rd party management are key strengths you’ll possess in abundance, ideally with exposure to financial services and specifically Direct General Insurance exposure would be beneficial, but not essential to the role.
Prince 2, PMI and APMP are qualifications we would ideally like you to have, as well as experience of complex technical implementations and project recover would all be advantageous. It goes without saying that your communication and team working skills are exemplary, and you’ll have a proactive approach to your work. Your commercial awareness will be razor-sharp and you’ll be well-versed in business planning and change management.
Project experience Demonstrable experience of managing a range of complex projects
This is likely to require more than 5 years Project or Programme Management, across different Portfolios and / or business functions.
Knowledge of project management practices, methods and tools
Has an excellent understanding of the project management body of knowledge and software delivery lifecycles in a number of project environments.
Good knowledge of project management software.
Project Management Qualifications
Achieved Project Management certification (APMP, Prince2 or equivalent) and has ambition to further develop knowledge of change management best practice.
IT domain experience
Demonstrable track record of successful delivery of projects with significant IT content, including in-house build and 3rd party implementations.
Expertise in particular technologies and/or infrastructure may be required for specific project assignments.
Produces robust and integrated project plans demonstrating skills in defining scope and approach, resource management, estimating, scheduling and change control
Cost & Benefits Management Expert
in use of cost and benefits management processes, tools and techniques.
Produces high quality and accurate project budgets, forecasts and cost benefit analysis for complex projects. Understands the benefits management lifecycle.
Risk & Issue Management
Demonstrates deep knowledge of risk management techniques, integrating risk management into all components of the project plan
Quality management and governance
Excellent understanding of quality management and applies this to embed quality into all project processes and deliverables.
Understands Organisation and IT governance requirements and manages project in accordance with these.
Commercial skills and 3rd party management
Experience of managing multiple third party delivery to projects, from early engagement to implementation, including software and service selection processes.
Has knowledge of contractual requirements and negotiation skills.
Uses knowledge of leadership tools and techniques to lead and motivate a range of individuals in large matrix teams.
Relationship / Stakeholder Management
Effectively identifies and manages stakeholders at senior management and Executive level.
May have multiple sponsors, predominately at Executive and Board level.
Provides guidance to project sponsor.
Communication / Presentation
Very confident oral communicator.
Written communication is concise, well-structured and consistently professional quality.
Communication is predominantly at Executive level.
Able to facilitate groups at Senior Management and Exec level to achieve desired solutions.
Mentoring / Training Colleagues
Seeks opportunities to undertake training and mentoring of colleagues within project team and to more junior staff in wider change community.
Knowledge of relevant MS Office tools
Excellent command of standard desktop software, eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Degree standard or equivalent or business experience
