Job Summary

The Product Marketing Manager contributes to Young Living Canada’s mission of bringing essential oils to every home by supporting several critical initiatives: product marketing, promotions, branded merchandise, seasonal collections/kits, strategic vendor partnerships, and other product-related needs. This includes providing strategic and tactical support for Young Living Canada’s complete product portfolio including essential oils, and brands like Thieves, Seedlings, Savvy Minerals, Kidscents, Plus Dietary Essential Oils, NingXia Red and more; product lines ranging from essential oils to household cleaning products to personal care products. The focus of this position is to increase product and brand awareness, drive new member enrollments, support our member sales force with promotional opportunities and innovative product offerings, and help generate new revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties as assigned):


  • Carry out strategic plan for driving sales engagement with Young Living Canada’s product portfolio
  • Work closely with product experts to understand product differentiators and synthesize information to implement creative solutions that inspire engagement by addressing customer needs
  • Proactively identify and recommend solutions to best support our member sales force through product marketing
  • Analyze and identify seasonal sales trends and opportunities within the product portfolio to drive product marketing strategic planning
  • Align global initiatives and incentives with the planned promotional and marketing efforts of Young Living Canada to ensure proper localization and alignment with market themes
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams including Product Management, Operations, Planning, and other essential departments to track and support product launch timelines, and market launch
  • Strategize and implement new product launches:
    • Reviewing international product portfolio to recommends products for launch in Canada
    • Working with operations to bring products to Canada
    • Creating product campaigns, tools and collateral to generate awareness and engagement
  • Protect and promote the Young Living Canada brand by ensuring that tone, messaging, look and feel, and other brand attributes are consistent and follow established brand style guides
  • Ongoing maintenance for existing product categories
  • Ongoing reporting on key accomplishments and sales targets associated with product marketing strategy and awareness KPIs


  • Carry out strategic planning and positioning of the market’s promotional offers including monthly PV promos, spot promos, enrollment offers, discounts and more
  • Manage a rolling 12-month calendar of promotions
  • Take creative approaches to driving sales through promotions within the promotional parameters outlined by Young Living Canada and our global partners
  • Provide positioning, justification and sales expectations for proposed promotions
  • Acquire approvals from support partners including Finance and Promotions
  • Submit promotional product plans through appropriate channels to kick off promotional forecasts, planning, sourcing, production and launch to marketing
  • Agility in planning promotions that hit the mark in the hearts and minds of our leader sales force
  • Support implementation of market strategy as well as global promotion strategy, interfacing with cross functional teams to produce relevant, meaningful promotions, and promotional support collateral that align with larger market initiatives
  • Post promotional analysis, reporting and insights


  • Implement proposals for seasonal collections/kit offerings to drive member engagement, increase sales and support participation in Essential Rewards (ER), Young Living Canada’s loyalty program
  • Identify lifestyle products and solutions that compliment Young Living Canada’s product portfolio and speak to member beliefs about green, sustainable, natural lifestyle solutions
  • Ideate, propose and oversee the production of custom holiday collections and branded merchandise for Young Living Canada. This includes submitting proposals, strategic evaluations, profitability analysis, vendor relations, sales/revenue tracking, cross functional leadership to move collections to market, and support strong sales with product marketing launch plans
  • Form strong relationships with third party vendors that will create additional value for Young Living Canada

  • Strong writing and critical thinking skills to distill the key benefits and product applications in product positioning and marketing for the member
  • Ability to articulate strategies and concepts with data-based decision making and justification for proposed approach
  • Experience in marketing, with a solid understanding of demand generation and engagement through marketing channels including social media, web, email, content marketing, blog, PR, and influencer marketing
  • Must be flexible and agile in responding to market needs and sales trends
  • A creative, innovative thinker that is familiar with trends and opportunities in the health and wellness space
  • Quick turn around and tenacity are important, along with the ability to proactively problem solve and work cooperatively with others
  • Highly creative, well organized, possess excellent attention to detail to produce quality work that reinforces or strengthens the brand

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS in marketing, marketing communications, or public relations with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Must be a skilled creative writer and possess excellent project management and interpersonal skills
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Previous experience in essential oils or health and wellness related fields a plus
