Winnipeg restaurants make Best 100 list

On Tuesday, two Winnipeg restaurants were named to the Canada’s Best 100 Restaurants list: Osborne Village’s Segovia and the Exchange District’s Deer + Almond.

The annual list, determined by a national panel of 97 judges, including chefs, restaurateurs, journalists, gourmets and industry leaders, is considered the Michelin Guide of Canada.

In listing it at No. 46, the judges singled out the contemporary takes on tapas at Segovia.

“There are many reasons for sitting up and paying attention to Winnipeg’s improving culinary scene — and Segovia is the strongest case in point,” judges said.
