Aidan managed to overturn Vincent at the drop of a hat and changed him from the no-nonsense thug he used to be, into the local doormat.
Audiences couldn’t believe how much Vincent’s character had changed since he joined Aidan’s gang for the New Year’s
And now it turns out that Richard desperately tried to keep bosses from re-writing the businessman into a complete wet wipe.
He explained: “This is where I had love for Patrick Bergin because there were scenes where he’d go, ‘I wouldn’t be able to do this to Vincent in real life!'”
Richard continued to Inside Soap: “We laughed about it as we understood that it had to be written that way for a reason, but there were times when I would say, ‘C’mon, can I just hit him a little bit?’ And they’d say, ‘No, Richard. It’s not in the script!'”
Vincent is preparing to kiss goodbye to Walford following his downward spiral and cash flow problems.
“We understood that it had to be written that way for a reason, but there were times when I would say, ‘C’mon, can I just hit him a little bit?’”
And EastEnders spoilers have shown that his exit won’t be anything short of dramatic.
He’s not the only character that is set to bow out of the Square in upcoming episodes.
In fact, his adopted sister Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) is going to flee Walford too.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed: “We can confirm Lisa will be leaving EastEnders in the coming months.
“Lisa has been a fantastic addition to the cast and she will be missed.”
They added: “We wish her all the very best for the future.”
