Royal wedding 2018 Royal Meghan Markle Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are renowned for having a long contact list of TV friends and celeb acquaintances.

The guest list for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was full of noteworthy guests,

David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Ellie Golding all secured invites to the big occasion, but will they manage to get another invite to this wedding?

Invites from the royal couple are being delivered to guests as we speak, so who is lucky enough to get the nod to the special wedding in Windsor on May 19?

Who has been invited?

According to Kensington Palace there will be no official UK or overseas guests at the wedding which will take place on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided not to invite any political leaders to their nuptials which means even British Prime Minister Theresa May will not attend the wedding.

The royal wedding guestlist has been the subject of intense speculation with many assuming the couple would invite Barack and Michelle Obama.

And it was widely believed the couple could Donald Trump, despite Meghan being an outspoken critic of the US President, due to diplomatic pressure.

Sources suggest as Prince Harry is not a direct heir to the throne there is no need for such formalities as inviting world leaders.

It is likely that Serena Williams will be on the list, as they are said to be close friends after meeting at a charity football match in 2014.

Elton John has also cancelled two concerts on the weekend of the wedding, suggesting he could be attending.

Reportedly, two of Prince Harry’s ex-flames, Chelsea Davy and Cressida Bonas will also be attending the wedding and have been personally invited by the Royal Family.

Chelsea is an ex-girlfriend of Harry’s, and his longest relationship to date, whereas, Cressida is another one of the Prince’s closest exes, whom he dated from 2012 to 2014.

At least 16 people connected to Suits are thought to be travelling to Windsor for the Royal Wedding.

The cast from the hit TV drama series including Meghan’s former co-stars Patrick J Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Abigail Spencer are expected to travel to Windsor for the wedding.

Series creator Aaron Korsh is also thought to be on the guestlist.

Invites will be sent to members of royal families if they are friends of the couple.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “It has been decided that an official list of political leaders – both UK and international – is not required for Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding. Her Majesty’s Government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by The Royal Household.”

Reports suggest that the guest list will be restricted to friends rather than officials because of position.
