The Spike Jordan-directed clip for “1942 Flows,” taken from last year’s Wins & Losses, opens with Meek addressing a media scrum after his release, cruising through the streets of Philadelphia soon after. The clip features footage of people protesting his incarceration with “Free Meek” and “Justice for Meek” signs in hand.
“I feel like a free slave,” Meek says during the scrum scene. “I feel like I’ve been targeted by certain people. Just being out in the streets, somebody knows they can take your freedom at any time. They charged me with F1 felonies, they seen me riding a bike. That kind of says it all. You get F1 felonies when you shoot somebody, when you stab somebody. I was charged with that for riding a bike.”
