‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Concept Art Shows Off Luke Skywalker’s Most Dramatic Moments

Spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi below.

Very soon, Episode VIII of the Star Wars saga will be coming to Blu-ray and 4K, and you’ll be able to see as many ultra high-definition porgs as your heart desires.

As the movie comes closer to that release date, The Last Jedi is entering its final round of marketing as Disney and Lucasfilm are releasing a whole slew of deleted scenes and other bonus materials which will be in the Blu-ray’s special features. But what won’t be in the special features are these cool pieces of Last Jedi concept art that Lucasfilm just released.

Nearly all of it focuses on the last Jedi himself, Luke Skywalker, and some of his biggest scenes from the film. For example, here’s how early plans for the scene where Luke was about to take a Force Molotov cocktail to the ancient Jedi texts on Ahch-To, only to watch a surprise appearance from (puppet) Yoda beat him to the punch. See the concept art below, from artist Seth Engstrom:

But of course, that’s not Luke’s biggest scene from the movie. While some may think his biggest scene is that brief shot of him drinking blue alien milk, it’s actually his climactic duel with former apprentice Kylo Ren at the very end of the film, where he survives tons of artillery and a few lightsaber swings before revealing he’s actually Force-projecting himself all the way from the binary star system containing Ahch-To.

And visually, that was a fantastic scene that the whites and reds of the planet Crait only added to. See some more concept art for that fight below:
