David Platt (played by Jack P. Shepherd) was making his way back home after his dad Martin (Sean Wilson) decided to leave Coronation Street.
However, David’s rapist Josh (Ryan Clayton) works at the mechanic which overlooks his house, and made sure to
Josh took the opportunity to speak to Martin earlier in the episode in a bid to
As David crossed his path while Martin’s car pulled away, Josh teased: “Changed your mind about running away then?”
David then stormed over to Josh at the mechanics and snapped: “I’m not going anywhere! What the hell do you think you’re doing talking to my dad?”
Josh then smirked and said: “I was trying to do you a favour,” as David continued: “Yeah, well I don’t want anything from you!”
Annoying David even further, Josh jibed at David’s mental state following his sexual assault.
Josh said: “I just thought he should know about what’s going on in your head. How you really feel.”
Furious that Josh had seemingly got away with raping him, David raged: “You’ve no idea how I feel. You know nothing about me!”
Smiling once more, Josh replied: “That’s not true is it? I know you… intimately. Or had we forgotten?”
David then said: “I just want you out of my life,” as Josh revealed that he wouldn’t leave anytime soon, saying: “No can do. I like it here.”
He then asked if Josh was trying to extort money in exchange for leaving, as Josh replied: “Don’t get it, do you? It doesn’t matter where I am or where you are. It happened. Get over it.”
With that, David marched back to his house, with furious viewers instantly taking to social media.
One fan of the soap tweeted: “@itvcorrie Josh is going to haunt David #Corrie.”
“Can’t wait till David and his anger fires back at Josh #Corrie,” posted another.
A third added: “My respects to @RClayton92. He’s portraying a twisted manipulative evil man effortlessly. A far cry from who Ryan is in real life – he’s genuinely lovely. #Josh #Corrie.”
“It’s quite pathetic really. Josh thinking he’s untouchable. Just wait until Shona figures it out, because I bet she’ll stop at nothing to see him punished. Legit can’t wait until he leaves #Corrie,” wrote another.
A fifth demanded: “Josh needs to get locked up NOW! @itvcorrie #Corrie.”
