Iain Lee has apologised live on air to Richard Madeley.
Lee, who was on I’m A Celebrity in December, made amends with Madeley today.
His apology came live on Good Morning Britain.
Susanna Reid said: “We’ve just realised this is the first time Iain Lee has met Richard Madeley.”
Iain was sheepish as he replied: “Well I feel I know you, and we had words before because I was very rude about you and your family on the 11 O’clock Show years ago. Really mean.”
Richard – who was on GMB to cover for Piers Morgan – replied: “Don’t worry about it. It comes with the territory. It’s fine.”
Iain continued: “I loved the 11 O’clock show. I was so proud of it . But there was a real nasty tone about it.
“So I’m sorry to you and your family.”
Richard replied: “It’s showbiz, don’t worry about it.”
Susanna laughed: “This is like a historic moment in showbiz.”
Richard joked: “Can you leave now please?”
Iain Lee has apologised to Jim Davidson after sparking a feud between the pair last week.
The ex-BBC WM presenter was blocked by controversial comic Davidson after he paid tribute to late friend Jim Bowen.
Lee refused to read out the tribute during a segment on Good Morning Britain, telling the audience Davidson didn’t “interest” him.
But after a backlash from viewers, Iain took to Twitter late last night to issue his apology.
“If someone could share this with @JimDOfficial I’d be grateful – Jim, I’m not a fan, but today I acted in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner and for that I apologise. Sorry fo the loss of your friend. X” he wrote.
“So, a bloke called Iain Lee has refused to read out my tribute to Jim Bowen on GMB whats his problem? And who is this t*t?” Davidson wrote on Twitter.
Iain went on to share messages of support from his followers.
Many said being blocked was “no loss”.
Another wrote: “If you’ve upset Jim Davidson, you can be confident you’re on the correct side of any argument.”
“Badge of honour,” another added.
Iain then issued an update, writing: “To clarify. That comment was not about Bowen. He was delightful and charming when I met him. Mr D seems to be making it about him! Poor form indeed.”
Iain had said on the ITV show: “Paddy McGuinness tweeted, and Jim Davidson tweeted – but I’m not interested in him.”
Susanna Reid, 47, asked: “Why not? He’s one of those comedy legends?”
Iain replied: “Let’s not. Let’s have this debate elsewhere.”
But fans were quick to voice their opinions – and not everybody was happy.
“Can’t believe Iain Lee decided it was fine to skip quickly past a tribute from Jim Davidson to Jim Bowen for reasons of his own @GMB So wrong,” wrote one.
Another wrote: “Iain lee is the worst presenter ever. And his handling of #JimBowen death is insincere, krass (sic), and disrespectful.
“Don’t appreciate him trying to put a funny twist on it, hes just coming across as obnoxious #GMB”
