An insider as claimed that ITV execs are “pulling out all the stops” for the last two shows.
This comes after it lost half of its audience at the weekend after Saturday Night Takeaway was cancelled.
Talent show The Voice replaced the show in the 7pm slot last Saturday, pulling in a peak of just 4.2million viewers.
“ITV are now pulling out all the stops to make sure Dec has plenty of support when he presents solo next week”
This is half of the peak of 7.9million people who tuned in for the fourth episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.
A telly source told The Sun: “It’s a ratings nightmare for ITV, who are now pulling out all the stops to make sure Dec has plenty of support when he presents solo next week.”
According to sources, Dec had his own Saturday night takeaway at the weekend after having a takeaway dinner delivered to his door.
However, the star does have reason to celebrate, as he officially confirmed on the Ant and Dec Twitter account that his wife Ali Astall is pregnant with their first child.
Dec told the pair’s 6.82 million Twitter fans: “Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages.
“The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it.”
He posted this alongside a snap of himself and Ali’s 2015 wedding day.
Dec is presenting alone on Saturday, despite vowing to never host with Ant.
However, he is still very much there for his life-long pair, with their pair apparently having a “very emotional” reunion before Ant re-entered rehab.

Dec was snapped entering and exiting Ant’s £1.6 million rented pad in Chiswick, London, last week.
A TV source said to the Mirror: “Ant and Dec spoke on the phone but hadn’t seen each other since the car accident, so it was a very emotional meeting.
“Dec gave Ant lots of hugs and reassurances that things would be OK. They both have a lot of hard work ahead now.”
Saturday Night Takeaway will continue on ITV on Saturday at 7pm.
