Celebrities turned out for a charity football match despite many of them having a hangover from a hard night’s partying in Cheltenham.
Katie Price, Kerry Katona, Callum Best, James Argent and Jake Wood were among some of the stars who turned up at the Whaddon Road stadium on Sunday.
And some admitted they had rather sore heads after hitting the town before checking into the Hatherley Manor Hotel for their stay in the county last night.
Crowds turned out to see the stars at MooMoo Clubrooms as they enjoyed a night out before the match at the LCI Rail Stadium on Sunday.
Match organisers Richard and Karen Lewis brought son Ben, 28, along to the club to meet the celebrities who were playing in his honour.
“It was a real eye opener,” said Karen.
“The girls were screaming and queuing ten deep to talk to some of them but they were all really good
“I think the enjoyed it and it’s fair to say that a few of them will have hangovers today.”
Commentating on the match Kerry Katona mentioned many of the players on the pitch had enjoyed a good night out in Gloucestershire before the big match.
TOWIE’s Dan Osborne, MC Harvey from So Solid Crew, Lee Evans from Steps and Simon Webbe from Blue were among the stars who wowed the crowds.
Dan Osborne and Callum Best had the girls screaming and Simon Webbe was one of the most popular, teasing supporters and posing for photographs.
He said his upbringing on a tough estate in Moss Side Manchester had taught him that it was important to give something back to the community.
Both Kerry Katona and Katie Price brought their children along to cheer their teams on and cut glamorous figures despite being hidden behind dark glasses, hats and scarfs.
Because she was not on the celebrity bus there was a rumour that Katie Price was not coming, but the star who recently spent time ghosthunting in Woodchester mansions arrived before the kick off.
Soap star Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning in Eastenders, immediately made a beeline for Lilac Jackson, the little girl with cerebral palsy who is hoping for an operation to help her walk.
The Bishops Cleeve youngster was at the side of the pitch when the soap star ran out and as soon as he spotted her in her walker he returned to the touchline to scoop her up and pose for selfies.
“Lilac is getting used to this kind of attention but meeting Max Branning was a treat for her mother,” laughed mum Leila.
Coronation Street star Shayne Ward was a no show, days after being pictured in the tablouds saying goodbye to the Corrie cast as his character Aidan prepares to leave the top soap.
The Sellebrity Soccer match included, five ex-Cheltenham Town players and members of the Lewis family who sponsor the kits through their business RK Lewis Transport.
They paid a game during the club’s Crowdfunder campaign of 2016 and decided to turn it into a fundraiser for son Ben who was close to death when he was airlifted to hospital after a road crash on the M5 which left him brain damaged.
“It was during the floods of 2007 and they could not treat him in Gloucestershire hospital to so he would have died if he hadn’t been airlifted to Oxford,” explained his dad.
The club chose to support the British Heart in memory of former vice chairman Colin Farmer who died just before the start of last season.
On Sunday there will be pop stars, film stars, reality on show so well worth popping down to see some Calum Best (TV).
Shanade Smith had celebrated her 24th birthday in MooMoos with friends Tamara Millward, 24 and Jasmine Odiero, 21, after old friend MC Harvey invited them to meet up.
“It was a really good night out and I celebrated my birthday in style,” she said as the trio watched the match.
