CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) — For many families, visiting the Easter bunny is an annual tradition. For some families, standing in the long lines can be stressful. That’s why CherryVale Mall in Cherry Valley, Illinois made sure kids of all ages and abilities could have the chance to meet him.
The mall hosted its Easter Bunny Cares event, which allows families with kids with special needs to have their own special time with the Easter bunny. The event happened before the mall opened with the lights dimmed and music turned down. This gave the kids a calming environment before meeting and taking pictures with the Easter bunny.
“It’s nice to know that there’s places in Rockford and around the area that does events like this for children where it’s a little bit better for them not to be with big crowds, and so they still get their chance to come in and have fun without it affecting the way they’re acting today,” said Angel Young who took her son to meet the bunny.
The mall provided puzzles and other games kids could play while they waited to meet the bunny instead of having to wait in line.~Source reference~
