The Role

Proofpoint, Inc. is seeking a self-starting highly motivated sales professional to join our successful and growing Named Accounts organization. This team helps large enterprise organizations throughout the world protect their most sensitive data. Our new team member will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals, and will have extensive experience as a trusted advisor to CISOs, CIOs and other C-level executives. This role will target accounts in a region and be based in Sydney, AUS.

The Named Account Manager will team up with our world class Sales Engineering Organization and our channels team to introduce Proofpoint to new customers, as well as to expand our presence with companies who are already part of our existing customer base.

Your day-to-day

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Drive new business sales into the ASX 200 and government accounts
  • Build and tightly manage the sales pipeline to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Co-ordinate and leverage internal and partner resources available effectively
  • Sell consultatively, discovering and presenting tailored business value
  • Work with the team to plan and execute winning account strategies
  • Set the benchmark for others in the business around quality and work ethic
  • Effectively position against the competition through intimate and current knowledge of the landscape and how to win
  • Accurately forecast business and record activity


What you bring to the team

  • Track record of exceeding assigned sales quotas and outperforming colleagues over multiple consecutive years
  • Appetite to drive aggressive growth, leveraging disruptive, class-leading technology
  • Ability to communicate with passion and credibility at the C level, developing valuable and lasting relationships
  • Experience in complex solution selling to Enterprise clients, geared around business value
  • Technical aptitude and a strong understanding of the landscape in the security market
  • Experience in an early phase, high growth environment, ideally SaaS and/or security
  • Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit; benchmark setter on both inputs and results, unwillingness to accept mediocrity
  • Resilience drive and adaptability to thrive in a small team that will grow quickly
  • Team player and collaborator who brings real value back to the business in terms of new strategies and insights
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred
  • Australian work authorization
  • Ability to travel
  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
