Deloitte Digital has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced DevOps Specialist to join our team. You will be working within our industry leading Digital practice on enterprise-scale client engagements.

What you will be doing


  • Ensure the software delivery lifecycle has sufficient infrastructure and application support

  • Deploy and maintain CI systems (the role does not include maintaining CI automation or scripting, that is for the SDM or TLs)

  • Ensure licensing for all development systems and software

  • Provide effective and efficient development environments for TEST, Sandbox, Staging etc.

  • Manage networking requirements for internal development systems

  • Provide the best infrastructure solution to specific development and system requirements

  • Able to performance tune applications when necessary including load balancing, computation unit scaling and data storage sharding

  • Guide and support developers with infrastructure requirements

  • Access and identity control


About you

You will have core technology familiarity in the following areas:


Servers


  • Advanced knowledge of Linux is a necessity

  • Great understanding of Virtual machines and related virtual infrastructure services (i.e. VPN, DB and routing)

  • Excellent understanding of at least one Major cloud provider such as AWS, GC or Azure

  • Experience in Docker technologies including deploying and orchestration (Chef, Kubernates etc.)


Database


  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, DB2, Oracle etc.

  • Good understanding of no SQL technologies such as MongoDB and a good understanding of GraphDBs would be beneficial

  • Great understanding of data schemas, constraints and database security apparatuses

  • Good understanding of database performance technologies including data sharding and the application of indexes

  • Able to configure proven redundancy solutions to ensure database integrity and up time


Continuous integration


  • Good knowledge of configuring CI tools such as Jenkins server

  • Good knowledge of code versioning systems such as GIT and Subversion to manage security and access to such systems

  • Familiarity in automation frameworks heals with configuring automated testing servers


User control systems




Compliance


  • Understanding licensing terms of development licenses and frameworks

  • Understand upgradability of existing systems and dependencies (in conjunction with SDM or TLs)

  • Data compliance and anonymization of sensitive data

  • Data control i.e. control access to data by all users


Networking


  • Excellent knowledge of networking, routing and firewalls

  • Excellent knowledge of web servers such as Apache, NGinx, IIS and Tomcats

  • Able to configure both physical and virtual networks

  • Webservice protocols governing services such as RESTful, SOAP and WebSockets


Monitoring and logging


  • Familiarity with systems monitoring technology for a multi-tier systems (i.e. monitoring at the services, container and dB levels)

  • Security logging and monitoring
