We are looking for an experienced, hard-working and enthusiastic Chef de Partie, ideally with pizza experience at our new Pizza Pots & Pubs site, Carpenter’s Arms in Cambridge. You will have the ability to master a wood fired oven and create amazing pizza’s, tagines, stews and remarkable specials for our Supper Club.
We are bringing our award-winning light crispy artisan pizza together with warming one-pots of comfort food (bubbling mac n cheese anyone?) and pints of beer to Cambridge. Responsibly and effectively lead shifts with a calm and approachable demeanour, maintaining clear communication between front and back of house personnel to keep a positive and professional working relationship between the whole team.
Complete due diligence paperwork including HACCP, COSHH and food wastage.
Training junior team members to strengthen the team and improve the standards.
Preparing and serving food quickly and efficiently to high standards.
Ensuring good hygiene, health and safety at all times.
Adhering accurately and consistently to recipes and portion control.
Unloading and organising equipment and food deliveries.
Carrying out stock rotation to ensure all food items are within shelf life, including maintaining correct storage conditions.
Having a ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ mentality.
Ensure the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
Maintain back of house standards and drive excellence in food quality through standard operating procedures and following the Head Chef’s example and leadership.
Be an active part of creating and maintaining a motivated team with excellent standards.
We are looking for:
Methodical, calm and organised approach to work
Precise planning and organisation/
Ability to give and receive fair feedback where appropriate.
Strong passion for food and pizza in particular.
Calm decision making/working under pressure.
Creativity to help us to develop this new concept.
1-2 years’ experience in a similar role; stock management; working to menu specifications; process improvement; stock management.
Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering.
