The Business Operations Team in the Tax & Legal practice is responsible for the ownership of the end to end compliance function for a small pilot set of clients. This team consists of Australian and EDC (Hyderabad, India) team members.About the role: As the Compliance mapping specialist you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and compliance quality management, supporting the Workflow process & Optimization Lead and Business Operations Lead in ensuring the smooth running of the Business Operations team function.Key duties will include but are not limited to: Oversee mapping and quality of client trial balance information to Deloitte Integrator chart of accountsOversee inclusion and quality of tax base information, based on client prepared information or Deloitte tax return workings, into IntegratorDetermine recognition of temporary differences based on AASB 112, making appropriate classifications in Integrator for recognition outcomesWorking with clients to source correct information on occasionReconcile the Integrator outputs to existing client information, providing reasonable explanations for differencesPrepare transition notes for client service team noting particular accounting treatments, recognition outcomes, TB setup and other decisions made in the onboarding processActively contribute to the on-going training and capability development of the team including development of training materials, participation in regular knowledge transfer sessions, development of process checklists and controls as appropriateBe a resource to client service teams for “gold standard” use of IntegratorYou will regularly liaise with a varied stakeholder group, including our EDC team in India to ensure the effective performance and high quality standards of the Business Operations Team within the Tax & Legal practice.You will be able to operate in a transforming environment, as the operating model shifts and changes to deliver on operational best practice.About you: You will have 4-5 years’ experience preparing tax provisions in commerce or large tax practice for large corporate entities. You will also have experience extracting data from ERP systems to prepare tax provisions in WK Integrator software or similar, along with being familiar with Australian accounting standards.
