SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Responsible for tracking fixed assets, costing products and reviewing accounts receivable balances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

  • Manages and process state sales tax returns.
  • Review sales tax accounts for accuracy in the general ledger.
  • Ensure that proper documentation exists for non-taxable customers.
  • Assist in closing financial records.
  • Assist in special financial analysis projects.
  • Manages daily cash process.
  • Write accounting policies and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of other related accounting tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of four years of responsible accounting experience.
  • A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

Merit develops, manufactures and markets single-use medical devices primarily for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and vascular disease.
